A headache. A fever. A sore body after a long day. Reaching for a pill seems like the obvious, easy solution - Tylenol, ibuprofen, you name it. But what if that “quick fix” isn’t as harmless as it seems?

The headlines have been everywhere this week: Tylenol (Panadol) has known risks.

For many people, this comes as a shock. It’s so easily available, it’s one of the first things doctors prescribe for pain and fever (including for pregnant Mothers), and why haven’t the risks been made obvious before now?

The risks were there all along - over the years there have been studies and warnings, but sadly not made widely known, until now.

Pharmaceuticals are everywhere, and yes, they can work fast - but they also come with risks. Liver strain, stomach upset, fatigue, and even subtle effects on mood are just a few of the hidden consequences. And for pregnant women, some of these common medications can affect the developing baby. Suddenly that convenient pill doesn’t feel so innocent.
