One of the questions I get asked most often is this: “Kirsty, I tried Homeopathy once and it didn’t work. Why?”

It’s such a valid question, and honestly, it’s one I love answering, because the reason is almost never “Homeopathy doesn’t work.” More often, there’s something specific going on that we can address. Let me walk you through the most common reasons Homeopathy appears to fail, and what you can do about it.

🌱 The Wrong Remedy Was Used

This is by far the most common reason. In Homeopathy, we don’t treat the disease, we treat the whole person. Two people with the same condition, say, insomnia or anxiety, may need completely different remedies based on their unique symptoms, personality, and history.

If you’ve been picking remedies off the shelf based on the label alone, there’s a good chance it wasn’t the right match for you. That’s not a failure of Homeopathy, that’s just the nature of individualised medicine. This is why working with a qualified Homeopath makes such a significant difference.

🌱 The Potency or Dosing Wasn’t Right

Even when the correct remedy is identified, potency and dosing matter. A remedy that is repeated too frequently, or not frequently enough, can appear to stop working. Equally, some people need a higher or lower potency than what they started with.

This is one of the many reasons follow-up appointments are so important. Your response to a remedy tells your Homeopath a huge amount about what needs to happen next.
