What's real and what's fake? Can you tell anymore in the age of AI?
My rant after seeing yet another fake AI advertisement selling supplements.
If you’re on social media, chances are you’ve come across something like this.
A video of an attractive, youthful looking woman, claiming to be in her 60’s, and her youthful good looks and toned figure are all because she takes this supplement, or uses this cream, or has this beauty treatment done.
Can we please just stop with these fake, Ai 🤖 ads lying to people (predominantly women in this instance), that if they take this supplement blah blah, they’ll look 30?
Firstly, what’s wrong with women looking their age?
I’m all for good health and healthy lifestyles, and I’ve been told I look younger than my age.
Sure, it’s a nice compliment and it makes me feel good because I’m obviously doing the right things for my body and health.
But I have no desire to try to look 30 again. And these ads … 🤬
It’s dishonest.
It grinds my gears, as someone in the health and wellness industry, that people are being duped. Sure, it’s not a new thing. There have been snake oil salespeople and charlatans since time immemorial.
With Ai, a lot of these images and videos look realistic and convincing, and judging by the comments that often go along with these reels, a lot of people believe the hype.
It irks me. It gives the health and wellness industry a bad name and negatively impacts those of us who do operate with honesty and integrity.
I’m not anti AI - I use it myself and find it a useful tool for various things.
What I AM anti, is people being fooled by fake imagery, and the continuing message that women have to look youthful to be beautiful, sexy and successful.
How about being the healthiest, strongest, happiest and most well-rounded version of yourself - regardless of your age.
A woman content in herself, living her best life, being healthy, eating well, exercising, getting good quality sleep, having a spiritual outlet, peace and harmony in her life, having loved ones, her own hobbies and interests - these are what give women beauty and an inner glow.
It doesn’t matter if she’s 35, 55 or 75.
Have you been seeing more of these fake images lately?
I work with people - real humans - and pets, locally and worldwide via Zoom. If you’d like some support, not to look 35, but to be the healthiest version of you regardless of your age, reach out to me. I’d love to support you with this.
