Rethinking cholesterol: why statins may not be the answer and how Homeopathy can help.
What I’m about to say could be controversial but hear me out. Not everything we’re told is bad for us, really is….
Take cholesterol for example. Cholesterol has been villainized for decades, but it is far from the enemy. Cholesterol is essential for life. It is the building block of our cell membranes, the raw material for hormones like estrogen and testosterone, and a critical component of the brain.
In fact, about 25 percent of the body’s cholesterol is found in the brain, supporting memory, learning, and cognitive function.
Statins, commonly prescribed to lower cholesterol, may seem like a simple solution. But research increasingly suggests that lowering cholesterol too aggressively can have serious consequences.
Since the brain relies on cholesterol for its structure and function, there is concern that statins could contribute to cognitive decline and even increase the risk of dementia in some people. Other risks associated with statins include muscle pain, fatigue, and digestive issues.
Statins Can Affect Testosterone: Men need to be especially cautious. Cholesterol is the raw material for testosterone production.
