i love you text on pink and white polka dot background

Even if you avoid the news like the plague (no pun intended, truly), you have probably seen the fear machine ramping up about Hantavirus. While the virus itself can be a nasty one, I always think perspective is important, and after the Covid debacle, rightly or wrongly, I’m a tad sceptical…..

Over the past few days, I’ve had people messaging me about Hantavirus, expressing some concern about it. And I get it, I really do. I think it’s important to have awareness and be prepared - always. It’s always smart to be prepared, not just for the next ‘thing’ but you never know when someone is going to get a stomach bug, flu, fever etc.

If you don’t have a homeopathic remedy kit - get one!

Because of the volume of messages I’ve received, I decided to write this post to offer support and remedy tips to those who may be concerned.

Understandably, any time the media starts reporting on a new virus or outbreak, many of us feel our nervous systems immediately tighten. That collective memory of Covid is still very fresh for a lot of people.

So first, breathe.

Awareness is wise. Panic is not.

Hantavirus is not a brand-new illness suddenly appearing out of nowhere. It has existed for a long time and is primarily associated with exposure to rodents and their droppings, particularly in poorly ventilated enclosed spaces like sheds, cabins, barns or storage areas.

Most people are not at high risk.

One of the biggest things Covid taught us is how quickly fear itself can spread. Fear weakens people. It disconnects us from our intuition, our common sense and our trust in our bodies. We do not need to repeat that cycle.

That does not mean ignoring illness or pretending things cannot happen. It simply means responding from steadiness rather than hysteria.

As always, support the terrain.

Rest properly. Eat nourishing food. Get sunshine. Reduce stress where possible. Support your immune system. Open windows. Use sensible hygiene around rodents and enclosed dusty spaces.
