I need to get something off my chest.
It’s one of those things I usually smile politely about… but inside, I’m quietly sighing.
Here it is:
People wanting to be cured for free.
You wouldn’t walk into your hairdresser’s salon and say,
“Could you just do a quick trim on the house?”
Or pop into your dentist’s office and say,
“I’ve got a toothache - can you just tell me what to do real quick?”
And yet, it happens all the time in Homeopathy.
Someone messages me, often with a long list of symptoms, or worse - “What remedy for anxiety?” - expecting a quick, magical answer.
Now don’t get me wrong. I love that people are curious about Homeopathy. I love that they’re seeking something natural, something that works with the body rather than against it.
But somewhere along the way, Homeopathy has been devalued - treated like a friendly Google search instead of a nuanced, living medicine that requires deep understanding, training, and time.
A good Homeopath doesn’t just match symptoms to a remedy.
We listen. We observe. We look for the patterns beneath the pain - the story the body is trying to tell.
We hold space for the tears, the history, the layers that even the person might not see.
It’s not a “quick tip.” It’s a therapeutic process.
And the truth is, valuing Homeopathy means valuing the practitioner’s energy, knowledge, and presence too.
Because this work is heart work. It’s human work.
I often wonder - why is it that something natural is expected to be free?
As if because it comes from the nature, it shouldn’t cost anything to access.
But there’s a difference between what nature gives freely and what it takes to understand and apply it well.
Homeopaths train for years. We study anatomy, materia medica, case analysis, ethics, philosophy. We sit with countless cases, trial and error, always learning, refining, humbling ourselves before the mysteries of healing.
We don’t just hand out remedies - we hold lives, stories, families, and often generations of emotion in those consultations.
So next time you think about asking your Homeopath for a “quick freebie,” I invite you to pause and consider:
Would you expect your hairdresser to style your hair for free?
Your mechanic to fix your car for nothing?
Your dentist to pull a tooth out of kindness?
Homeopathy is a profession.
It’s a calling, yes - but also a craft that deserves respect, reciprocity, and fair exchange.
When you pay for a consultation, you’re not just paying for a remedy.
You’re honouring the sacred time, the knowledge, and the care that goes into truly seeing you.
And that - to me - is where real healing begins.
With mutual respect.
With energy flowing both ways.
With value - for both the giver and the receiver.
💚
Kirsty
